The Lost Castle by Kristy Cambron

The Lost Castle by Kristy Cambron is a split-time novel, following three different couples at three different times but in the same location. A beautiful castle in the Loire Valley in France. Whether it be lady and Julian or Quinn and Ellie or the Duke of Vivay and Aveline, all three couples have amazing adventures.

This novel is enchanting and enticing once the story really picks up. For me, that wasn't until halfway through. I had a hard time adapting to the jump between the time frames especially since sometimes specific time frame characters jump back and forth between their own time frame. I may not have always been paying close attention to the dates, which is what brought on the confusion. It's not until past the halfway mark, that you get to see the connection between the three different couples. The story is well orchestrated and very well written, it's enticing and a definite page-turner by the end. It touches on three different time frames, the French Revolution, the Second World War and current day.

I was very excited to learn that this is the first book of a series. I have grown attached to the characters and can't wait to see what will happen next for Ellie and Quinn. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone who enjoys history based romance and adventure novels.

I received this book free from the publisher through the BookLook Bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
